On the night of Ted's graduation, May 22nd, 1952, Ted was offered a handsome bonus with the Milwaukee Braves with a guarantee to go to the big leagues at the end of his first season as a pro. Ted thanked the scout for the Braves but told him he would have to "refuse his offer" as he had a calling to the ministry. For the last half century, Ted Selgo has dedicated his life to serving the ministry. In 1996, Ted was selected "Minister of the Year" by his peers.
