As a pilot of a B25 military plane, he flew combat missions and his plane was shot down over the Pacific Ocean. Frank survived on a life raft that was later rescued. After the war, Frank decided to live in California, where he met his first wife, Beatrice. They had three children, sons Donald and Greg, and daughter Linda. For many years, Frank headed the Pomona City Water Works and worked there until his retirement. Since the death of his first wife, Frank has remarried and now lives in San Diego, California.
