Dick Selgo was always involved with sports and excelled in most of them. After his successful basketball career at Baldwin-Wallace College, Dick became a teacher and coach at Port Clinton High School and later joined his father in the bowling business. He also participated in many bowling tournaments and became a champion in that sport. For a while he played shortstop for the Boston Red Sox farm system. From 1953 to 1954 he coached basketball at Port Clinton High School and later continued with coaching outstanding basketball teams at Pettisville from 1966 to 1974. After retiring from teaching and coaching in 1991, Dick moved to Arizona with his wife Margaret, also a graduate of Port Clinton High School.
